Had the full rack of ribs. Not as big as I was expecting but just about filled me up, did have a bit of an appetite for the … More meal. Food tasting ok but have certainly had better for the price. Service was friendly but not the most attentive, took about 20mins before they took the order and was pretty empty. We were not in a rush so not an issue. -

Nice view of Sydney Bridge and the Opera House. Steak is chewy. Pavlova is sweet and nice. -

Whenever I’m in Sydney and hungry late at night, this is my go to spot. The view of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge is … More unreal, especially at night. The staff are great and the service is solid. I wouldn’t recommend the spaghetti, the bolognese sauce just didn’t taste right to me. But the pancakes are a must-try, and the double cheeseburger is definitely worth it. -

The food was really good. Portions were great and presentation was on point. The gentlemen who took our order was extremely … More kind. It isn't necessarily cheap, but considering the quality and location we were satisfied. Would definitely come back. Chicken Parm pictured below -

Sydney Extra 24 Hour Restaurant is a great spot right in front of Circular Quay, and it’s perfect when you’re looking for … More good food at any time of the day or night. The food is surprisingly very good for a 24-hour place — fresh, tasty, and with generous portions. They also have a nice selection of drinks, and enjoying a cold beer here after a late-night walk is always a bonus.
The location is unbeatable. Being right by Circular Quay makes it incredibly convenient, especially when everything else is closed. More than once, after walking around the Opera House or enjoying the harbour views late at night, this place has saved the night with a good meal and a relaxed atmosphere.
The staff are friendly, the service is quick, and the place feels welcoming no matter the hour. If you’re in the area, whether it’s for a midnight snack or a casual meal with a great view, this restaurant is a reliable and enjoyable choice. Highly recommended! -

These guys are brilliant. They are literally the ONLY 24 hour cafe and restaurant in Sydney when you're waiting for … More a connecting flight. After landing in Sydney late at night from 30 hours travelling from Europe via Turkey, I discovered the airport closes till 6 am! And there's nothing open nearby so you need to go into the city by train, bus or cab.
I took a Uber back at 530 am to get my domestic flight. But City Extra was a great place to kill time. They even have a 24/7 luggage service so I could walk around Circular Quay whilst waiting... -

Had brunch here in our recent holiday in Sydney. Serving sizes were huge. Happily offered gluten free option to our meals. … More Team were friendly and was so prompt to take our orders and deliver our meals. If ever back in Sydney would go there again for sure. -

Visited in August 2016 - City Extra is known for its big portions, 24-hour service, and unbeatable spot right on Circular … More Quay. The view of ferries, cruise ships, and the Harbour Bridge makes it hard to argue with the location. I went for the “Canadian Breakfast” - eggs, bacon, pancakes, butter, maple syrup. The eggs were lovely, the bacon properly tasty. The pancakes had decent texture but little flavour; I ended up salting the butter and wishing for honey instead of syrup. Still, the quality of Australian produce shines through. Convenient, reliable, and I’d happily return if passing the quay again. -

Great to see City Extra still running. I spent many nights here after going clubbing in the 90's. Had just finished … More a show at the Opera House and everything along the Promenade was closed. It still looks the same. Menu I think is the same so I went for my usual seafood crepe and a garlic bread. I swear it tasted just as I remembered. Service was great and for the area, prices reasonable. -

I visited recently after loving this place on a visit from overseas 9 years ago — it was just as good as I remembered! The … More server was prompt and very friendly, and our lattes were yummy. We both ordered fish and chips, which were delicious, served with a delicate breading, a tasty salad and wonderful thick chips/fries. Scones — our favorite from our visits years ago — made a scrumptious dessert, which were fabulous with clotted cream and jam. We got some for takeaway, and they were just as good for breakfast the next morning.
There are great seating options: inside at booths and tables, upstairs with views out over the harbor, and outdoors in front. All were popular.
Now I just have to make the 16-hour flight again before another 9 years! -

A few months ago, I had a meal at City Extra, and even though I’m just getting around to writing about it, good food (and … More a well-paired wine) leaves a lasting impression.
I ordered the chili garlic prawn spaghetti, and it was fantastic. The prawns were fresh and perfectly cooked, with a nice balance of garlic and chili giving the dish a flavorful kick. The pasta was well-prepared, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully.
My partner went with the grilled rump steak with mushroom gravy, which was cooked just right—tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The gravy added a rich, savory touch that complemented the steak well.
To go with my meal, I had a house white wine, which was crisp and refreshing—nothing overly fancy but a nice pairing with the seafood.
The service was friendly but a bit slow. Our food took longer than expected, though it seemed more a case of the restaurant being really busy rather than a lack of effort from the staff. It wasn’t a huge issue, but if you're in a rush, it might test your patience. That said, the casual yet lively atmosphere and prime location made the wait bearable. -

Edit # 2 - I have … More returned several times now and each time I have been pleased with the service and food. I would recommend to anyone now. 👍😊
Edit - I came back tonight on my way home from Vivid for a quick snack. This time was a big improvement. I just had a single crepe with syrup and ice cream and a milk shake which was delicious. The staff were a lot more attentive and welcoming. This experience tonight will have me coming back.
I had an average experience dining experience here. I understand it’s in a busy location but I felt like the staff were too rushed to serve me adequately. The food was ok, it was the worst I had but I have definitely had better. I don’t think I would recommend because there are many options that I feel offer better service and value. A Thumbs Up from Me! 👍👍👍 -

I don’t know where else you can be fed a full meal or a cafe sized snack 24 hours a day. This place has saved me a few times, … More family come to visit in the city, we look at all the sights and before you know it, the only restaurant open is a fast food option, which is not always what is desired. Healthy and heart options available, vegetarian, pasta, pies, burgers, steak, fish, coffee, croissants, cake, they have something for everyone. It’s is not cheap, but not over the top, remember, it is in the heart of circular quay, AND everyone in your group will be catered for. Fast service, polite and friendly waitstaff and clean toilets and eating areas.
